Latest update:
Tom has settled into his new room at the new hospital, where he has been for the past few days.
There has been a little improvement in his condition. He opens his eyes and look at whoever is standing in front of him. So far there has been no purposeful movement on his part other than his eyes. The doctors are hopeful and we are as well, since he was so active before the accident.
Because Tom's condition is stable, Paul and I are going to go to San Diego in time to meet up with Jess. We'll pick up our trailer in Phoenix on the way, and leave it at the park where we have reservations, in San Diego. After 2 weeks without the trailer, there are things we need from it, and things we can't leave in it indefinately. We'll head back to El Paso for Christmas, then back to San Diego for the last week of Jess's break, so she can keep her original flights. After that we will head back to El Paso, with the trailer this time, to stay there as long as we need to be there....lots of driving, but its the best way we can think of to handle everything.
General blurb for anyone who hasn't read previous posts....
Paul and I are in El Paso with his parents. On November 30th Paul's father fell through the floor in the attic. He has no broken bones, but is currently still unconscious. We have stopped traveling for the time being, and will stay with his parents for as long as they need us here.

ReplyDeleteA couple of months ago, on the day I was to leave to pick up my new fifth wheel, I found my sister unconscious on the floor. Long story short, it didn't look like she was going to make it. She was on a respirator, still unconscious, with a poor reported prognosis. All the family flew in as it looked dire. It didn't look like I could do any more and there was plenty of family in town so I left to pick up my rig. It was a grueling four day 2,400 mile run with lot's of tears. She's now made a full recovery and is as normal as she was before, which wasn't that normal. But she's back. Hope to see you on the road as we're at the end stage of liquidating everything as will travel until we stop, also. Who knows what will come after the great mid-live adventure.
thanks for the well wishes....we have been having a blast traveling, more fun than we even thought it would be....let us know where you head and we'll try and catch up and compare notes...the hardest part is the liquidation!
