2 weeks ago we blew a trailer tire while traveling down the highway. The fender was ripped off along with the tire, and minor damage was done to some wiring. Upon inspection, we could see that a 2nd tire already had some tread separation and would be the next to blow. After researching these tires, we elected to upgrade all 4 tires to one with a better safety history and speed rating. We filed a claim with Goodyear and yesterday they agreed to pay for all the damage and 4 new tires for the trailer. We only had to pay the difference between the price of the tire we had and didn't want, and the upgraded tire.
Although we weren't happy to have this kind of problem with tires, we were happy with Goodyear's response.
I'm impressed with Goodyear's response. We've had a couple of blow outs but no damage to the coach because the tire pressure system warned us soon enough that we had slowed way down before the tire actually went. Stay safe.
