We finally took the time to open the rocks we brought back from Rock Hound State Park and were very disappointed, but not really surprised, I guess, to find that they were just plain rocks. The whole process of hunting for them, and the anticipation of potentially actually finding one, did sort of whet my appetite though, and I will be on the lookout for places to hunt for geodes as we travel the country. Paul and I have gotten back into the habit of going to the gym-we're trying for every other day- we'll see how that goes!
Yesterday we took off at lunch time, picked up his mom and drove over the mountain to see the fields of poppies. There sure are a lot of them! People seem to make a big deal about them here, and I think its partly because there are so few plants with actual flowers around here. Mostly what they have is cactus.
Dozer has been enjoying his time outside. Paul has been digging a trench in the backyard, and installing some piping, so Dozer gets to stay out on his leash for a good portion of the day.
The weather the other day was actually nice enough that we all sat outside for a while before dinner.

Good reason to go back - you have to look for more!
